CHILDHOOD & Education-

On October 27, 1997, Sarfaraz Khan was born in Mumbai, the state capital of Maharashtra. In the past, his father Naushad Khan was a cricket player as well. He represented Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. Tabassum Khan, Sarfaraz's mother, is a homemaker. In addition to Sarfaraz, his two brothers, Musheer Khan and Moeen Khan, are also great cricket players. Musheer has led the Mumbai Under-16 squad as captain. Sarfaraz Khan wed Romana Zahoor, a Kashmiri woman, on August 6, 2023.

Mumbai is where Sarfaraz Khan completed his elementary schooling. Due to his cricket commitments, he was unable to attend school for four years. Instead, he received private coaching to study English and mathematics. He could not study much because he used to spend more time playing cricket than studying. Rizvi Springfield School was his final educational institution.




Star batsman Sarfaraz Khan of Mumbai is the husband of Romana Zahoor, a Kashmiri woman. On August 6, 2023, they were married in the Kashmiri village of Pashpora, in the Shopia district. Media reports state that Delhi is where Sarfaraz and Romana first met. They both fell in love with one another right away. They made the decision to be married after dating for a while. Following this, members of Sarfaraz Khan's family arrived at Romana's home and made a marriage proposal.

Note:- that Romana received her M.Sc. from Delhi University. In Delhi, Sarfaraz's sister attended the same college as Romana. Their sister introduced them to each other. Later, after telling his sister up front that he had to wed Romana, Sarfaraz brought up the issue with the rest of the family, and the marriage was arranged. On social media, Sarfaraz's wedding photos went viral.


Cricket Love:-

Sarfaraz Khan's early years in Mumbai were characterised by his love of cricket. Although he was a cricketer, his father Naushad Khan was never able to represent India. Sarfaraz wants to play for the Indian cricket team in order to carry out his father's goal. The majority of Sarfaraz's youth was spent in Azad Maidan. He was trained there by his father and coach Nausad Khan. His father saw that he had a knack for timing the ball, and that's when he began tutoring him.

In addition, Sarfaraz's dad had installed a practice synthetic pitch close to the residence. Sarfaraz began batting brilliantly after learning the game of cricket from his father. When Sarfaraz Khan scored 439 runs in 421 balls during a Harris Shield match, he shattered Sachin Tendulkar's 45-year-old record, bringing him into the public eye. He blasted 12 sixes and 56 fours in this inning. He was competing for Rizvi Springfield, his school. When he was just 12 years old in 2009, this was his first Harris Shield match.

Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan is a member of the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Mumbai in local cricket. Sarfaraz is a leg-break bowler and an aggressive batter with the right hand. In the 2014 and 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cups, he played for India. In domestic cricket, he is among the top scorers with runs scored.


Domestic Cricket Journey-

In the 2014 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Sarfaraz Khan made his List-A debut against Saurashtra. In a close game, his unbroken inning of 17 runs in 15 balls proved to be the winning difference. A few months later, in the 2014 Ranji Trophy, he faced Bengal in his first-class encounter. But he did not live up to expectations and was out for a meagre 1 run. Later, Sarfaraz joined the Uttar Pradesh cricket squad for the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy season at his father’s suggestion.

However, in his three seasons with UP, the middle-order batsman played in just eight Ranji matches, thus it wasn't very noteworthy for him. He had only participated in 11 first-class matches as of September 2019, however in those games he scored 535 runs, his best being 155. In 12 List A games, he also scored 257 runs with a 96.25 strike rate.

Following his return to Mumbai at the beginning of the 2020 season, Sarfaraz served out the required one-year cooling-off period. Against UP, he scored his first century. In January 2020, Sarfaraz achieved his first-ever triple century in first-class cricket during a Ranji Trophy match between Uttar Pradesh and the 2019–20 team. Concurrently, during the 2021–22 Ranji season, Sarfaraz Khan amassed 982 runs in six games with a strike rate of 69.54 and an average of 122.75 and won the title for Player of the Series. He amassed four centuries, two half-centuries, and a double century during this Ranji Trophy season. His bat produced 16 sixes and 93 fours during this time. His highest rating was 275. Sarfaraz has not yet been given the opportunity to play for the Indian cricket team, despite constantly putting up strong performances in domestic cricket.


Sarfaraz Khan U-19 Career-

Sarfaraz Khan was selected for the Under-19 World Cup team in 2014, when India finished sixth, based on his strong home results. In six games, he amassed 211 runs at an average of 70.33, with two half-centuries, and a strike rate of 105.5. Sarfaraz participated in the Under-19 World Cup in 2016 as well. Sarfaraz finished the competition with the second-highest run total. In six innings, he scored 355 runs at an average of 71, five of them were for more than 50 runs. He is the record holder for the most half-centuries in World Cups at the Under-19 level (7 half-centuries in two World Cups).


Sarfaraz Khan IPL Career-

In the 2015 IPL auction, Sarfaraz Khan was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 50 lakh following a strong showing in the 2014 Under-19 World Cup. He made IPL history by becoming the youngest player to play at the age of 17. Sarfaraz made his IPL debut against Chennai Super Kings on April 22, 2015. He scored 11 runs on 7 balls in that particular encounter. Following this, he became well-known for hitting 45 runs in 21 balls without losing against the Rajasthan Royals. He hit six fours and one six during this inning.

Following his innings, RCB skipper Virat Kohli bowed to Sarfaraz and greeted him as he was returning to the dressing room. It was a moment that will never be forgotten. He participated in 13 IPL games in 2015 and amassed 111 runs at a strike percentage of 156.33. But because of his lack of fitness, he was benched from the club for the 2016 Indian Premier League season and did not see much action. He participated in five games during the 2016 season, scoring 66 runs at a strike percentage of 212.90.

Simultaneously, in the 2017 Indian Premier League, he sustained a leg injury during a training session that required him to miss the entire season. Sarfaraz was kept by RCB for the 2018 campaign. However, Sarfaraz had a poor season, managing just 51 runs at a strike average of 124.39 in six innings. After being released by RCB in 2019, Sarfaraz was acquired by Kings XI Punjab for a sum of Rs 25 lakh.During the 2019 Indian Premier League, he amassed 180 runs at an average of 45 in eight games. Punjab decided to keep Sarfaraz for the 2020 IPL. He participated in five games during the 2020 season, scoring 33 runs at an average of 16.50.
